SUMMARY:SFCTA Presents: Traffic Circle design & request for letter supporting grant application
DESCRIPTION:The Mission Bay traffic circle has been at the center of a study by San Francisco County Transportation Authority transit planners for safety improvements for two+ years. The study was requested by the District 6 Supervisor’s officedue to its immediate proximity to the new public elementary school. \nThe traffic circle presents a number of challenges\, but planners now feel they have found a possible solution to make the connection of streets into the circle safer for all modes of travel. \nThe main focus of this meeting will be to hear from SFCTA senior transportation planner David Long on: \n1) a proposed solution he recommends\, and the estimated cost of the proposed solution ($2.5-3 Million); and \n2) a possible fundingsource\, how extremely competitive it will be to secure that funding\, and how MBNA’s board could play a role in helping to secure that funding by writing a Letter of Support for SFCTA’s recommended solution. \nThank you.
