District 6 SOMA Family Summit

This is Your City. This is Your Voice. This is Your Future. Share your story about growing up and raising your family in San Francisco. Every family has a story. Every voice matters — please share yours.

The District 6 SOMA Family Summit is part of This Is Your City: 2026 Family Listening Series, a set of summits being held in all 11 supervisorial districts and feeding into San Francisco’s first Citywide Community Needs Assessment. Through conversations with families across the city, organizers are learning what matters most to children, youth, young adults and families — and what they learn will help improve future planning, programs and services.

Free food and free childcare are provided. Interpretation is available; all interpretation requests must be made 48 hours or more before the Summit. Registration is through Eventbrite.

Everyone is welcome. This event highlights District 6, but you may attend any Family Summit that fits your schedule. District 6 neighborhoods include Mid-Market, Rincon Hill/East Cut, South of Market, South Beach, Mission Bay, Treasure Island, Yerba Buena Island, Alcatraz, the Design District, the 6th Street Corridor and the Leather Cultural District.

The Summit takes place at the Gene Friend South of Market Recreation Center, 270 6th Street. Note: this event is outside Mission Bay, but Mission Bay is one of the District 6 neighborhoods it covers.
